⟹ PUBLIC WATER ADVISORY -- TASTE AND ODOR NOTICE ⟸
Tuesday, June 9 update: Since the initial advisory was issued, the Water Department has continued to take additional steps to address the issue, including completing hydrant flushing, installing mechanical aeration at the raw water inlet tank, implementing a controlled copper sulfate treatment program in the reservoir, and pursuing approval for sodium permanganate pre-oxidation treatment with the NY State Dept. of Health. The purpose of this update is to keep residents informed of the actions being taken and to reassure everyone that we are actively working to improve water quality conditions.
The Water Department understands your frustration, and we will continue to provide more information as it is available.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our residents while these efforts continue.

INITIAL ADVISORY:
Thursday, June 6. The Village of Saugerties Water Department and the Town of Saugerties Water Department are currently receiving reports from customers describing a musty or moldy taste and odor in the drinking water.
We want to assure residents that the water remains safe to drink and continues to meet all state and federal drinking water standards. This is an
aesthetic water quality issue only and does not indicate any health risk.
